: Opinions on Moonlight Blue
GazKerr 14-01-2006, 20:02:18 what are everyone's opinions on the 225 in Moonlight blue. I'm starting to look round for one at the moment and I've found one on Autotrader with loads of extra's on it including Climate, keyless, xenons, full leather, panoramic sunroof.
Here's a picture of one off the Renault site: -

rs cabbie 14-01-2006, 20:03:57 I dont like the colour it makes it look boring and plain if they do a nice car like the 225 then the colours have to be bright and in your face if you know what i mean :D
shinyautos.com 14-01-2006, 20:07:55 I kind of like it but agree with the looks boring aproach...
rs cabbie 14-01-2006, 20:11:30 you would think of just a normal megane coming down the road until it got up close. when your on the road you can always tell the difference but if you saw this you would think it was just a standard one
Jon Seal 14-01-2006, 20:19:25 VERY rare, like black will look mint when its all polished up I rekon
rs cabbie 14-01-2006, 20:29:06 i dont think it would there does not seem to be any metalic in the paint to make it shine like a 225 would 8)
Had one come up beside me today, thought it was black until i looked closer, very nice colour
The bloke ignored me tho', i was hoping he saw the club sticker in the back window

I saw one a few days ago where i work. Didn't think much of it to be honest.
Doc883 14-01-2006, 22:53:07 I've got one, 3dr but the colour is Midnight Blue. Renault discontinued the colour about 6months ago. The picture from the website doesn't do it justice as it looks quite flat. Under poor lighting conditions the car looks black but polished on a sunny day it looks mint, a very deep metallic blue. I agree with it being a bit discreet but that and the fact that hardly anyone else has one made my mind up. I didn't want to stand out like the proverbial. :D
BlackRat250 14-01-2006, 23:00:30 Post some pics if you can mate, be good to see a proper pic.

BlackRat250 15-01-2006, 14:12:12 That looks really nice. I wonder how many were made that colour? Did you have to pay extra for it?
Doc883 15-01-2006, 14:19:53 Midnight Blue was a standard colour until mid 2005 when Renault removed it from the list. Interestingly it was the only colour I hadn't seen when I placed my order so went in a bit blind !! Really pleased with the colour and it is very rare. Last year there was a topic on the renaultsport website about who chose what colour, Inferno was No 1 and Midnight Blue was last with less than 5% off all 225's ordered in that colour. Not going to see many now that it's discontinued :D

Have you lowered it? looks lower, if so what springs did you go for and what drop
i am doing mine at the end of the month, but don't know what springs to go for
cheers phil
Doc883 15-01-2006, 15:01:35 Phil, lowered the car about 6 months ago. Went with the Eibach springs from Ktec 30mm lower (5% club discount if I remember rightly). Had them fitted at a local garage for £90. Done 6000 miles now with them and happy to report no unusual tyre wear. The tread depth was consistent over the width of the tyre on all 4 tyres when I checked last week :D
Not only does it look better but it has improved the steering feel and handling. Would deffo recommend it to anyone who has given it some thought but has yet to make their mind up.
BlackRat250 15-01-2006, 15:03:08 That top picture doesn't do the colour justice.
Nice one cheers for the info. think Craig225 reported no uneven wear aswell
so definately doing it then!
cheers again phil
andy bassett 15-01-2006, 17:05:23 i still had the option to buy it in that blue wen i ordered my new one.

I've got a midnight blue, it gets dirty very quickly and in winter does look a bit 'ordinary' but when it's clean and the sun is shining you can't beat it
GazKerr 18-01-2006, 21:45:10 have you got any pic phildo??
phildo 19-01-2006, 10:46:22 Can't upload pictures at work and haven't got internet at home :(
andy bassett 19-01-2006, 13:40:07 bet it looks the don wen its all polished up and sun is blazing on it
BlackRat250 19-01-2006, 16:06:09 It be good to have one that colout at the FCS.
