By the looks of it, only those who complain will get the fix. The RUK representative mentions the "small number" of owners affected by the problem, which should read the small number of owners who are aware of the problem.
Thanks for posting this. I'm a bit relieved by it! I don't have that irregular noise (yet?) and my engine sounds as rough as that one does anyway at idle - I've heard a rattle this weekend in the cabin when the engine is started from cold, but it disappears after a minute. But sounds like there's nothing to worry about?
No problem,if you have the rattle from the cambelt area you would no about it,sounds like a spanner has been left in there.60% of 250s have it according to the poll.its a joy to drive now mine is fixed.

Just a change of timing and aux belts with difference idler rollers being used, can't really see the big deal tbh. Deffo don't understand the would want it doing comment, new belts etc so whats the big deal?
He just muttered it to himself, didn't quiz him on it. Not been done yet, they'll give me a bell when the parts are in. I think it made a change for a customer to come in already knowing the problem.
they didnt like it in mine much,at least the the two techs that work on mine are cool.i will not let anyone else touch it.It makes such a difference Dan,you can enjoy it much more without that little thing in the back of your mind saying is it going to fail..
Dan, I notice on the paperwork it says "Affects F4R 870/874 engines" do we know if that is the number of all RS250 engines or just a particular production group which would explain why it hasn't happened to all 250's?
