Hi guys I'm just wondering when the rs was purchased new did they come with the rs monitor as standard or an option and can they be fitted to a car that doesn't have one
Yep, the top 2 buttons on the stalk, hold em in for a few seconds and the radio display will change to the disclaimer screen prior to the RS Monitor being displayed
You have several throttle maps you can select as well as the rpm before red line for the gear change beep..
It gives you real time boost, power, oil temp, intake temp, brake pressure.. It includes a 0 to 60 timer and a lap timer, plus lateral and pos/neg G.
That's just it though, if, in your job that you do day in, day out, they changed / updated things every now and then and you didn't keep up to date with the updates then you're solely to blame. Its a salespersons job to keep up to spec with what they are selling.
They probably don't have a single one to demo or any staff who know anything about them either. Why go to a normal dealer when you can go to an RS Specialist who supposedly know more about the cars, and more importantly, have them available to demo?
It's not hard to remember this stuff. I'm sure most of us can remember a ton of information about random cars that we've never even driven, so a salesman who has a small number of cars to remember about really should know his stuff, especially if he wants to do well and sell on the optional extras!
I'd be a pretty useless software developer if I didn't at least try to keep up to date with the changes going on in my field! In the areas I specialise in, if people ask me a question and I can't come up with an answer then I tend to be a bit disappointed with myself! You'd think they'd feel the same!
Tbf I don't really mind I got it knocked down by 1500 quid because he didn't know much about it 4months old 1600 miles ff with cup chassis and rs monitor all for 18k don't mind at all lol
I dont know why anyone would defend a car salesman, unless they are one themselves. Car salesmen are equal to taxi drivers, estate agents and solicitors in my book. Im yet to meet one that gives it to you the way it is. And the ones that claim that they do are the worst they have mastered the art of bull ****ing.
OK, I pressed both the buttons on the radio stalk at the same time with the engine running / without the engine running and mine def doesn't work.
I have a 250 AGP version which has the map display, much larger than the ones on the standard Cup and Cup trophee.
I was told it didnt have the RS monitor and it appears they were right !
My question is , should it still have access to the RS monitor or are the salesmen actually right for once ?
I've only had it nearly three weeks and still learning the controls !
Cheers
Keith
Yup, unfortunately the AGP doesn't have the RS Monitor. It comes with the GPS instead which is kind of odd considering it's a "GP" edition!
