Fitting a Dump Valve to your Megane 225
Tools needed:
Straight edge screwdriver
Small terminal type screwdriver
Stanley Knife
This quick guide shows you how to get a dump valve on your 225. Our dump valve was supplied by Ktec Racing (www.k-tecracing.com) and includes the silicone T piece, Vacuum tube, clips and of course the valve. Its straightforward to fit, but bear in mind that the 225 engine bay is very tight so some patience is needed when moving the piping as described below. The way this valve is fitted means it can be completely removed for trips to the dealer if you wish.
The first thing to do is pop off the engine cover which is held in place by 4 rubber mounts

Next you need to identify the vacuum tube and the main air pipe that we are taking off and replacing with the silicone "T" piece
The image below shows the vacuum tube. One end of this pipes goes down to the standard re-circulating valve on the side of the turbo, it has a metal clip holding one part of the tube onto the small "T" remove this clip using a small screwdriver to prise it open.( I left the clip loose on the hose after fitting the valve just in case I need to put it all back to its original state again should the car need a visit to Renault). Pull this hose off the small "T"

The picture below shows the air pipe you need to remove, undo the two jubilee clips and take off the pipe, put the bits safe in case you need them again!

Next get the new silicone "T" in place. As I said earlier its very tight in that engine bay and the hose T will need a bit of jigging about to get it in place. Once you have it in place you should end up with something like this:

Tighten up the jubilee clips on the hose and the one connecting the valve. Next take the length of vacuum tube and take a small amount off the end with your Stanley knife. Push the small piece onto the small T we've just taken the Renault tube from. Next connect the new T piece and connect the vacuum tube from the valve into one end of the T and then lastly connect the Renault original tube. You should end up with something like this:

Your now ready to go! Here's another picture of what the full installation will look like. On mine I used a small amount of electricians tape to secure the vacuum tube coming from the valve to stop it rubbing any other pipes in the engine bay.
