Why would you offer a 2.75 and a 3 inch system.......?

Yozzasport decided against going for a 3" system for their new exhaust as they had concerns regarding fouling heat shields and the like.

I'd be interested to know ktec's view on this. I take it ktec can guarentee these fitting issues aren't a problem with their system?

I have to say that if the volume is reasonable and the writing on the tailpipes is optional, this could be the right system for me.

Ok, to answer a few questions.

Our new exhaust is made by a different company to the company that make the 2.7" system for us.

We have recorded a slight improvement on a tuned car with the 3" system when compared to the 2.75" system. This was only a very slight gain and the idea behind the 3" system is to plan for the future when people start taking the cars well over 300bhp. We have also been asked for a 3" system by a lot of overseas customers.

The K-Tec Racing logo on the tailpipes is not optional, they will all come with this but you do not really see it once the system is fitted.

As for the 3" system hitting heat shields, I can only put this down to scare mongering or poor construction by other companies (or taking the easy to manufacture option in a 2.5" system which is he same as the standard system). We have been running the 3" system on our R26 for a couple of months now and not had an issues at all. We would not sell the exhaust if it did not fit right and have just designed a 3" system that we are also running on our new 250, again with no issues. We can guarantee our systems fit but we cannot guarantee how well another garage/person will fit it. You will be amazed at how many times we have refit customers systems that have been poorly fitted by a third party.

I hope this answers a few questions.

      David.

David, the standard system is 2 inches, not 2.5.

I can only see the 3inch being any good over 300bhp, the 2.75 system is more than upto the job.

And from fitting my exhaust - theres enough room for a 3inch system no probs, like ktec said, just needs fitting, aligning correctly
