      Right thanks for your help chaps,turned out to be a failing diode within the altenator,any way a new altenator and aux belt later and its all fine..

      Few more bits to sort then i will be happy

      Slight oil leak from vvt soleniod - new washer ordered and replace cracked fog light

      Full service at the weekend including gearbox fluid and fit new plugs...

      I got a 172 cup at the mo. there brilliant fun haven't fully tested it though.

      I had one for 18 months and even though I've had several cars without ABS I found it ridiculously easy to lock the wheels in the wet.. Was borderline scary a few times when I had to stop in a hurry..

      yeah lol i did get to test it out a bit, ill stick with ABS thanks
