I know a few owners have had this issue just wondering what people's thoughts are on this. After speaking to Ed on here I've decided to copy his idea and take some preventative action and fitted an engine cover and heat reflective material on the underside of the bonnet.
Ed has. Renault contributed 75%. Not sure how you could get a replacement now, as I read on the Renault Sport forum, the company that originally made them no longer supply them.
I let Steve be the wheel nut checker last time out at oulton. What was I thinking looking back. I think he has plans to destroy me then he can get his hands on the sheep.
Quick question... if the bonnet has a slight fade already because of the heat how can you get it back to its former glory? Is it the laquer thats faded of the actual fibers?
Don't think it's the lacquer Charlie, its something to do with the weave of the carbon fibre. Pretty sure it's unrepairable. Mines started to go so I'm just trying to stop it getting worse.
Apparantly carbon fibre is affected by uv rays and clouding is caused by moisture in the lacquer.
