Default New Clio IV 1.2 75hp

Bought the Mrs one of these (dynamique+) - lovely looking car and overall well equiped but OMG 2nd gear is useless and top speed/torque is useless

Up hill on motorways it will lose say from a steady 80 down to 65 even 60mph!!!

I am new at mapping and still on the fence with modding my RS265 but.... Is it worth it?

Found a guy in the Midlands that will remap it for £179

And looking at the Modus they list on their webpage (same engine) the remap should produce...

75hp/105NM to 84hp/119NM - would this mean 2nd would improve and top speed maintained a little better

How do we sit with warranty-would they even pick it up?

not sure what you were expecting with 75 bhp in a car that size, a remap would help, but i would only take it to one of the big boys, good luck.

What's the best for mpg the 1200 or 900 turbo. Have they gone for small capacity turbocharged for better emissions?

Introducing our innovative, F1 inspired all new Energy engines which revolutionise current standards. They enable the New Renault Clio to lead the way in lowering fuel consumption and CO2 emissions while delivering pure driving pleasure

The New Renault Clio is the first to introduce the new Renault Energy TCe 90 engine, which combines outstanding driving pleasure and lower running costs. This 3-cylinder, 900 cc turbo petrol engine delivers 90 hp and provides efficient pick-up and acceleration at all engine speeds. Driving in town is pleasant, because 90% of the maximum torque (135 Nm) can be used from 1650 rpm to avoid frequent gear changes. Equipped with Stop and Start technology, its (combined) fuel consumption & CO2 emissions are just 62.7 mpg and 104 g/km and just 65.7 mpg with emissions of 99g/km on the reduced emission version.

Our all new Diesel, the new Energy dCi 90 engine is simply the best! With a combined fuel consumption 88.3 mpg and CO2 emissions of 83 g/km* (reduced emission version) the New Clio offers a very economical driving experience to both private and business users.

The New Renault Clio also benefits from a range of other technologies which all help with efficient motoring:

      • Stop & Start
The engine stops automatically when the vehicle is stopped and in neutral.

      • Energy Smart Management (ESM)
Saves energy by recharging the battery during braking phases.

      • Thermomanagement
Saves energy and reduces CO2 emissions (1%) when starting the car from cold.

      • Active Air Shutters
The flaps at the front of the radiator are opened or closed to improve aerodynamics and consumption by reducing drag.

      • Thermo-plastic hatchback (on ECO versions only)
Thermoplastic tailgate means the car is lighter saving CO2 emissions.

      Eco-Mode Switch
The driver can activate the Eco-mode switch to reduce fuel consumption by up to 12%.
