Will be going up to the isle of Skye in June, it's going to be a fair few miles (1000 there and back). Wondered if anyone had done a similar distance and what preparations and recommendations you could make before I go?

I think I will take a jerry can of fuel with me to be on the safe side, car is maintained well so there should be no issues there hopefully.

Skye is great, I've had a couple of road trips to it before. Higher octane fuel becomes harder to find so think about where you will stop for petrol.

I drive Cambridge to Edinburgh and back a few time a year and the car handles it well, just make the usual checks for fluids, tyres + pressure and brakes before you go.

The longest journey ive taken in the car was sailing from newcastle to amsterdam. Driving holland, belgum into france. On to paris. From Paris to Frankfurt. From there to cologne. Back to amsterdam and sailed home. The car was great. As said just make the usual checks and you'll be fine
