Taken from the renaultsport page, "The Clio Renaultsport range will sadly finish production soon. As of today, if you're quick, there are just 4 Clio Renaultsport 182s remaining.

Doesn't surprise me, there is the RS Clio 197 coming out later this year so they are clearing the 182s.

Apparently though the performance figures aren't gonna be any different from the 182 due to the additional weight of the new shape Clios!!

Could well be mate, the size of them and additional build quality has bulked them up a bit so whether they will out drive the 172/182 remains to be seen!!

Would be a shame that they couldn't continue the tradition of one of the best hot hatches made. Renault have a good history for them -

Renault 5 Turbo
Renault Clio Williams/16v
RenaultSport Clio 172/182
RenaultSport Clio V6
RenaultSport Megane 225

But is the RenaultSport Clio 197 gonna compete with the above??? :?

from what i've heard on renaultsport forum from j townsend (clio brand manager) they are a stonking car, he raced one in a 182 with both cup packs on a B twisty road and was left behind after 300 yards so not but quicker in a straight line but well sorted handling

That would make up for something if the handling is good.

Thing is though, in the real world of driving will that make all the difference??

Like with the Clios out handling the Meganes?? In the real world it doesn't really matter. (IMO :lol: )
