Guys I have a 250 and the 265 might not be available in South Africa. We will have to wait for the 2012 Collection.

I would appreciate if a 265 owner can post pictures of the 265 Engine Bay and air box/induction.

I would like to see the changes to induction if they are minor or significant.

:)

Theres only 50 (out of the 500 made) in the UK.... so you might not get a pic right away :)

This is quite interesting. Has anybody done this to a 250 air box?

What is max boost on RS Monitor on a 265? 1.200 / 1250 or 1300mbar?

So can I assume only the air box mod and increased boost makes the extra power?

Probably the ECU mapping is responsible for the increased boost. The removal of the foam is responsible for a somewhat better sound from the engine bay. ;)

Any ideas on the improved exhaust sound of the 2012 Collection Throphy? Simply another exhaust design?

I don't think anyone apart from Renault have seen the 265 (not Trophy) yet. The press release did mention a different exhust design, but there was a lot of marketing speil in that press release. We'll have to wait and see what's actually changed.

I removed the foam from the airbox; gives slightly more induction noise and you can clearly hear the recirculation valve when you let go of the throttle.

Does one simply undo the 2 screws on the air box, remove the air filter and then pull the foam out?
Does the foam only isolate noise? It has no part in the air flow?
Are you using the stock air filter?

A Panel filter does change sound. You can hear it sucking air from about 2000rpm and the occasional pop/overrun and dumping. I have one based on the ITG. Not yet removed foam.

Seems that the Meg III Phase 2 and Throphy 265 may be launched here in South Africa at the Renault Simola/Knysna Hillclimb in May 2012.
