andy went to powerflow, got backbox removed and just pipes straight through. I kid you not it sounds like the gates of hell opening lol Its hard to describe what it sounds like but it doesnt sound like a car, or a bike, or anything really. Has to be heard to be believed. All I could do was just piss myself (not litrally but almost)

Ive just been to r-tec and ive booked in for my backbox to be removed.

Its gonna be about £230ish. Im looking into what size tailpipes i want on the end and im looking at these 4" ones. Andy made me aware that they can get hot.

However looking at one of them there is a middle bit that fills the 3.5" - 4" big that will absorb the heat

This isnt powerflow.

They are fitting a "reflex" system. The powerflow place quoted me £300ish for the same thing as rtec are quoting.

Its basically to rerun all the piping form the centre box to the back.

You were right about R-tec.....they seem to have a good product and the price seems good.

They are looking to put one of the reflex systems in.

Oh the amount of alloys they have....i can see how you spent a whole day there trying them on the meggy

Crikey that was a bit of a mission then! I guess the tuners will have to redo a new map for the euro 5 cars then, at least paul knows how to write the files as that was a different proess to the urrent ars too

Sorry to hear that Andy i dont think it will be long before a revised map is available if i know Paul.
I suppose all the other maps have been designed around the original 225s as well so i cant see it being long.

yeah but it cost me alot to find that out, so i now got a fooked car that wont even start, had to be put on a lorry to get it back home ( 280 miles and 5hrs ).it has gone into renaults today and all i can do is keep my fingers crossed all will be ok on the warrenty, but paul did say if its not covered then he will pay to put it right.

Shit didnt realise the car was fooked thought the map just didnt work on your car. so what happened exactly or would you rather not talk about it.

Basically Renault have totally revised the ECU on the new Euro 5. Even changed the way you bring the ignition on. All the maps are now different hence the problems. I don't want to go into too much detail as renno may see this thread......

sorry to hear about this andy !! shocking. guess thats what happens to the early adopters of anything thats not been tested. its peeps like you that i respect for trying something out to be at the cutting edge. im sure RS-Tuning will be back with a altered map and once reno has sorted the car then the new remap will be for free + coffee with double sugars

how does this effect hte KTEC Remap ? and the new facelift models ?

hopefully ktec will read this and steer well clear of touching any euro engines! I would imagine that their development has been on the old engine

Who would think though in all fairness, a car with a facelift of front bumper front lights and rear light would have an altered ecu...


No fault of RS-Tuning.

Once andy's cars back and bouncing i'm sure RST will have sorted something out.

When you look at it, the old engine is now a totaly different map, so its just like trying to put a bmw map on a renault, so a whole new map will have to be developed for the euro 5 as if it were a different car.

Again thanks to these car companies trying to make it awkward for people who want something different.

On bentleys if a head light bulb is removed you have to take it to Bentley to have a computer plugged in to remove the warning light as i found out at the cost of £40 :roll:
