Hi all,

(perhaps not specific to this particular sub-forum, but I'll ask anyhow..)

In your experience, who are the best warranty providers out there at the moment (for performance cars)?

The warranty I've got with dealer is up soon, so I just want to get an idea of who everyone uses...

Thanks,

No warranty here either. They rarely cover the big cost items you actually want covering, always try to get out of paying and cost a fortune. In my opinion you're better banging the money you would have spent on the warranty in a savings account and drawing on it if you need it.

If you plan on buying a complete pup then get a warranty but otherwise look for a decent, honest example, find a good independant Renault specialist and save yourself some cash in the long run.

If you were buying something with potentially enormous repair costs then i'd probably be tempted by a warranty but on a Megane 2 I don't see the point personally.

I renewed mine with main dealer , it was about £120 cheaper than warrantee wise, i think of it as insurance whilst ive got it i wont have to claim , the minuite it runs out ill wish i had it, one of those things really some will say its a waste of money some will say other wise, If its easilly affordable then get it mate, you never know

The one that came with the car - Auto/Customer Protect - is next to useless. They say they cover the electrical system but that doesn't seem to include the loom!! Ummm. Suppose it shows that you get what you pay for (came with the car for free). Funnily enough, I've having some work done on the boot electrics tomorrow, out of warranty...

I had the extended Renault one for 2 years. After all it is a Renault so you should get your money back with claims plus big piece of mind if your on a tight budget and not handy with cars.

I've heard good things about the AA parts and labour warranty, certainly during my previous Lotus days, they had a good reputation amongst the Lotus clan, very cheap compared to some of the other independent warranties.
