Ok, could someone explain to me about these intercoolers please? I've seen on this site 2 types (even 3 with andy's). One is here http://meganesport.net/forum/viewtopic.php?t=11, the other http://meganesport.net/forum/viewtopic.php?t=387. Which one is better?

Can any intercooler be mounted on Megane?

Both the above links are the same intercooler from the same company.

Cant say if any are better or worse as i dont think anyones got them fitted yet ! ?

Andys is from another source and probably will be the first on hear to get a modded intercooler fitted as he has loads of money

cheers

yeah right i wish  , again mine will be 99% the same as the others above.

as for fitting any intercooler tes you could but you would need a few bend and samco to fit it and there will be no fitting bracket like the other so i would go for one that is made for the 225.

i got a friend ov mine to copy the same design of the intercoolers above and give me a price to do it, and it was a lot cheaper for me to do it this way.
so it will be going on the weekend
Andy, ive heard that if you change the intercooler, renault won't cover any warranty work on the engine if it goes wrong or boom  .

like he cares!!!!!! he'll just put it back to normal within a couple of hrs, so they wont even notice
I'd say quality will be the same or similar, I had a quote for a motorsport bar and plate intercooler as used on rally cars.....£1000!! The cores used in sensibly priced coolers arent as efficient but they are obviously far cheaper

£1000, christ i would want it made from gold and liquid nitrogen so it run at -10 for tat price.

im happy to pay £ :?: :?: for mine if it does the job
yeah that was pretty elitist stuff really, the place where I get the hoses for the dump valves are a turbo manufacturer too, they had an evo engine on the bench with one fitted, they are about 50% more efficient than normal coolers the guy said thaey are the pucker rally spec ones, they had about 20 in stock too for your evos, scoobs and stuff. He reconed one of those coolers on a 225 bhp engine would give you about another 18-20 bhp which is impressive but expensiver power!

hmm.. 20bhp on a clio/NA usually costs more than £1,000 so i can see it being worth it once you have got serious about you megane and done the remap, exhaust, induction, etc.. it may be the ticket to 300bhp without new injectors/turbo etc..
i guess once your into big power territory it becomes more of a long term investment as it will stand the test of uprades and power increases
