Ok, still no EBC pads but the Apec ones I got from www.speedways.co.uk are doing a good job. I was late for work the other day so caned the car round our ring road to the M1, all 13 roundabouts were negotiated with clean pants! By No 10 with standard pads it was getting a bit scary! The price is right and the service was first rate, so well worth a try.

Yes dave fitted myself. First off you need some gloves cos you aint never got your hands this mucky before, trust me! Then you'll need a 12mm hex socket to undo the caliper screws. Then you'll need a flat punch to knock the pad retaining pins out. Thats about all there is to it.

You might need to clean some brake dust off the sides of the caliper so the new pads fit in, and the pistons will need pushing fully home, use a piece of wood or something to lever them back in.

Put it all back together and tighten the caliper screws as tight as you can and they should be OK. 1-2 hours tops.

Got this e-mail from EBC last week:

Hello Paul

This has been passed on to us from Brakes4u who are at a loss as they are middleman in this...
We have a big problem with this pad we had the backplates lasered and the mold finished just before christmas
Unfortunatly the material would not bind kindly to the plates which has caused us a major headache in our lad.
The mold has been sent back to the tool makers to be re-modified and is expected back early next week and hopefully the molding process will be up to our standard, we will notify you as soon as we have the results as we have 11 customers waiting on this pad if the pad passes the sheer tests the it will go into production for the future

Sorry about this Brakes4u had contacted on several occassions on this matter but it was filtered straight into our junk mail folder

Thanks

Good job I was'nt still waiting !
