Just been told from my local dealers that there is no touch up paint available at the moment for my sport yellow 250.The parts dept said nothing is on the system at all which I find quite puzzling. He took my reg and chassis number aswell. Its strage how there are already stone chips touched up on the bumper by the previous owner so he must have got one from somewhere.Has anyone had the same problem or are my local dealers talking aload of bull?I find it totally ridiculous if renault dont do one,i only want to touch up a few stone chips.
oh and hellow everyone,i am a new member as i just got my 250 2 weeks ago and loving it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Welcome JamieW.
I'd ring Reno direct, although you'd think the dealer would be able to sort this out. If you speak to Reno they'll be able to say yes or no if a touch up stick is available. As you say, it'll be ridiculous if they don't have one, if they don't, the touch ups already done musta been via Halfords (or similar0 touch up stick, they have loads. Is the colour where its been touched up bang on with the original? If not, its not a Reno touch up thats been used but a very very similar colour.

just got an answer on official renaultsport forums by renault uk.They said they dont do a touch up pen in sport yellow cos of low demand.

Pathetic!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

So its my fault for getting a yellow 250,silly me.Wonder what else they dont have available for certain colours that are available in more popular colours?
Talk about being alienated or what!!!

Followed by this from RUK:

""A number of colours do not have touch up pens, it is not just Sport Yellow. The colour itself is popular, but the demand for touch up sticks is not there (not just SY)"

So I am well and truly stuffed then if i want a good official colour match for my stonechips. You say the demand for touch up pens is low, surely regardless of colour cars are gonna get stone chips on the bonnet/front bumpers (its very common no matter what car you drive).I still cant work out why renault do touch up pens for some and not for others

I hate to say it, but most touch up jobs I've seen look worse than the stone chips in the first place. I've got a fair few on my 250, but I guess they show up a lot more on SY.

Just take this image to any decent car paint specialist and they will be able to mix you up a touch up pen

HTH

Edit: images aren't working so click this link as it has the image in the thread . . . http://www.meganesport.net/community/showthread.php?51558-RS250-Yellow-Paintcode&p=594882#post594882

Go to a paint factors with the code from the inside of the door. They can mix up a touch up pen.

So it seems many have stone chips then. I hate them

Evans Halshaw in Middlesbrough.
Never ever take your car there! My mate has had no end of problems with them! They ruined the paintwork on his r.26 by clearing snow off the bonnet with the workshop sweeping brush, then managed to lose his locking wheel nuts.

I'd always use Tones in Hartlepool.

Oh god thats not very good.Never tried Tones in Hartlepool but will give them a try.I just had my car in the dealers yesterday to get an outstanding recall done, something to do with the tire valves nuts or something.Checked car after and everything appears okay.
