Hi all. Just purchased a megane sport 225. It is non runner but ive found anaother engine as this one is siezed. I have removed the bumper and rads etc. Has anyone got any helpfull tips on removing the lump. I am so used to working on the ford escort rs 2000! How do the drive shafts come out? Any help would be greatly appreciated so i can get this car running and MOT'd. Then i can have some fun.
Cheers Chris.

Hi Chris,
Much like the Escort, assuming its a mk5/6 its bring it out as a whole with the box.

Take the battery tray out so you can disconnect the cable shift.
Much easier than an Escort due to the front end being so open when everything is removed!

Cheers for that. Just curious about how the driveshafts remove?

May be worth getting a hub splitter, I dont think they cost alot and come in use for all sorts of things.

the 3 13mm nuts you will need a decent long spanner to get them off, theres not enough room to get a socket in

Cheers for the recommendation. And the tip with the spanner, Going to have a go myself. Not only to save a few quid, but its a good way of learning the car and seeing what needs replacing as i go!!

Well its on all ready to come out now. Top 2 mounts and engine crane in and out she comes! Took me about 6 hours today to get it this stage though. Found acouple of bits that will need sorting though. So as soon as engine gets delivered i will wrestle it out and swap all the ancillaries over. Bloody cold though. Took the skin off my knuckles!!
