whats the difference between 3" pipework and 2 1/2" pipework?
is it noise related? power related?

Its the size of the bore of the piping obviously. The bigger the bore the deeper the sound.

Also supposed to assist with quicker exiting of heat & exhaust gases, especially helpful with turbo cars.
Go for 3" if poss plus it sounds sexy to boot ie nice deep exhaust note

but also remember the bigger you go the less back preasure you will get,
if it were me i would go for 2 1/2"

imo of course

Yeah i chatted with magnex yesterday, and they reckon on a standard car you could potentially lose power going to 3"
and the fact they leave all heatshields in tact and dont want any knocking, and the best fit.
so we agreed on a 2 3/4" pipe so its a good compromise between
sound, quality of fit, and most importantly power!
