father in law just bumped his ctr

he has a post in drive way(security one) and went out to wash car thought he'd move the car to a more suitable spot and bump forgot to remove the post . went to have a look today and he's gutted new front qtr panel and front bumper possibly, the worst thing is he done a deal yesterday on a new car mitsubishi outlander, wanted a bigger car and 4wd, not my choice of car but anyway suprising how much damage can be done at 3mph or so
