when im driving i can hear what i can only describe as a droning helicopter type noise coming from the rear of the car. only starts to get louder as i hit 70mph

any ideas how i can find out myself as i understand the bearing is in the disc hub so how could i check?

An out of shape tyre Can cause the same effect, get on your knees and see if theres a 'stepped' effect on the tread normally occurs on the inner edge, pirelli's are bad for it but conti's do it to

Cheers people, im not getting too bothered as the rear discs themselves need replacing really.

Minichapperz, there is a stepped effect on the tread do to them previously being run on the front, inners are down to markers and i have replacements so might do them first and see, cheers!
