hi all,

Anyone know of the best wasy to fix this??? happened last night in a communial parking area around the back of my other half's mum's house.
it was parked up for about half an hour, looks like someone has caught it with there bumber, and guess what there was no note or sign of the car that did it, been quoted by a couple of body shops from £100 to blow it in up to £340 to do the whole bumper, anyone out there suffered this type of mindless idiot behavour and what did you do???? would you recomend the whole bumper being done or just the affected areas?????

The stupid little f8cks.

Most of it i'd say would polish out for now, but them two digs wouldn't obviously, i would say the whole bumper would need to be done on that kind of colour if you took it to a garage.

Having said that if you give a company like chip and dent they are bloody awesome and would repair it on your drive and give you the best finish ever.

I'd also reckon that they could repair just that little bit also i had a mercedes ML55 AMG repaired by them in a metalic blue and he only did a little area and that didn't even notice it had been done.

I think he charged me something like £100 max.

I'll see if i can get his number again he normally does back hander work so i'll see what i can come up with.

I know what you mean though dave sometimes they are few and far between when it comes to a bloke who cares about the job he's doing rather than job done and home.

I used a company called chips away when someone did a simular thing to my previous car, to$$ers! It was sevral scuff marks and a deeper (into bumper plastic) scrach.

Work cost £90.00 , but I was very impressed you coulden't tell any work had been done. Only problem was 8mts later the clear lacquer started to flake (only in one area which was funny). They fixed it again and sorted out quite a few stone chips on the bonet and wing mirrors as compensation so can't complain too much.

Don't know if the work lasted because I sold the car not long after.

Don't to Renault as they will charge the earth!

iv'e got a chap from one of those coming out to me tomorrow lunch, they say the work is garanteed for 2 years, so if anything was to go wrong i would imagine it would go wrong in that time scale, but i must admit i'm coming round to the idea of letting the volvo garage do it as they did a bit of warrenty work on my other megane where the paint had abubble in it on the boot and they did do a good job, plus it's not far for me if j have any problems, the only problem i have is the car was supagaurded from new so that needs to be re-applied too and that should stop the laquer from weathering also.

I had the same a few month back a prick at work decided to go down the side of my front bumper with his corsa ... It was worse than yours and i got it done at Renault in Burnley for £280 . Luckily i got the money off him .. They just blew it in ... The guy said the paint is waterbased so it is easy to do they then just apply loads of laquer after ....

By the looks of the top picture the side of the bumper isnt too bad, I reckon with a bit of time spent polishing and maybe some very very light cutting you get rid of the worst of that. The back however will definetly need paint. Someone key'd the missus car the other week and I was mad I think if someone did the meggy I'd go wild
