I think modern Renaults are designed to drink a bit, keeps the service intervals nice and high. My old shape Megane does about a litre every 10k, but the Clio (same engine) hasn't used any at all in 10K. I suppose it depends on the age of the engine, and how you drive it really.
Not entirely sure if this applies to the 225. I'd check the dipstick though rather than rely on the electronic reading.
