People who don't like certain cars...........annoying!!!

Dunno if this bugs anyone specifically but it really irritates me when people state that they don't like cars purely for the grounds that 'Its French' or 'Its a Ford' etc etc.

Everyone has their own preference but surely its a bit ignorant to write of a car due to one reason when they've had no experience of that car.

Just read a post on another forum asking which car is recommended, the guy is only 18 or so and mentioned a Clio. Just got a couple of responses saying 'Don't buy that its French'.
What a pants reason for not buying a car.

I remember getting a few surprised reactions from the Jap lot about how quick my 172 was. Seems that ignorance determines what people drive as much as anything.

Any opinions on this................
Or is it me being a moaning old f*cker hahaha

Agree with you totally. There is a guy at work who hates Vauxhalls as they are 'always breaking down'.
OK, they may not be the most exciting cars on the roads but the latest ones are good and I find them very comfortable to drive and as reliable as anything else.
My Dad had company Vauxhalls for 20 years and NEVER had any problems that weren't self inflicted.

He also has a go about Renault but that I think is just to wind me up as I had a New Megane 1.6 in 2003 that was riddled with paint and mechanical faults.
I'm glad its not just me haha.

There seems to be a big trend towards Jap cars and in turn a lot of people who look down upon modern, European motors.

Everyone has preferences to cars styling etc. But unless you've had personal experience you don't really have a right to comment.

I think people just need to be more open minded when it comes to cars. How many people who supposedely know about cars don't have a clue what a Megane 225 is or a Clio 172??? :?
knowone really knows much about cars. a work collegue of mine is an ex mechanic yet knows nothing about current brands or specs of these vehicles maybe he was a shit mechanic but at the end of the day people see "Badge" nothing else.

there have been some beautiful saloons/coupes and also unique designs that shame some supercars of recent but the badge is poor.

Point them in the direction of EVO mags "Car of the Year" article in the January issue :D ..........stupid f*#kers
That is exactly my point!!

I gave a ride to a guy in my 172 and he normally drove an NA 2.0ltr MR2 and he was really surprised by how quick and how good the Clio was. But people just take someone elses opnion and don't experience it and then make their mind up.

You just gotta be open minded and not just ignore a car coz of what country/manufacturer etc it comes from!

In another breath think of the BMW/Merc drivers who pull up next to you at the lights, look at your car and think 'pah...just a Renault' then you spank them silly
