Please could any members with failed engines vote as per the options in the pole and also comment in the thread on the following:

Model year
Which fuel you were using
Mileage in state of tune
Dyno'd hp & torque
Approx engine temp.
Throttle position & gear at failure

If you had any relevant mods in addition to the basic pole options please add them as you comment on the additional points.

Ill start the ball rolling

Year-2007 (57plate)

Fuel-v-power

Mileage of car was 31,000mls and was stage 2 for around 2000mls

Dyno figures- 276bhp and 325lbft

Engine temp-....cold

Throttle position- 3/4 throttle

Gear- 2nd gear

Other mods- itg panel filter, forge silicone hoses, forge dump valve (blue spring), k-tec 3" cat back exhaust, forge actuator (yellow spring), forge blanking plate.

Engine cut back, lack of power and throttle, couple of seconds later regained power followed by a loud bang!
Piston, rod in cylinder 1 destroyed and hole in block.

225 F1 (phase 2)

Built: june 2006 on 06 plate

Fuel: shell v power at the time but used tesco 99 mainly

Mileage 42,000 (was on stage 2 for 4 months & 4,000 miles)

Dyno: 275bhp & 325ft ibs torque

Engine temp: Full temp

Throttle: foot to the floor

Gear: 2nd

History: Full Renault service history & was serviced just before stage 2

Mods: forge fmic, forge hoses, forge dump valve, forge blanking plate, stage 2 rs tuning map.

Damage: hole in block... had loss of power at 3k to 4k rpm then a big bang, heard bits of engine flying about & lots of smoke out the back :(

I'd be more interested in how many are actually happily running around in various states of tune.

E.g. i'm about to fit a FMIC then in march (warranty over) should i also go stage 1??

Dyno'd hp & torque: 275 bhp 340 ibs torque
Mods : Forge Fmic Milltek decat, milltek cat back, Rs tuning stage 2
History: Full renault service history, oil change 2000 miles before engine failure.

Damage: Knock from engine, 4 bent conrods, Chunk out of cylinder block
