Price quotes for some spraying

1244 Views 18 Replies 4 Participants Last post by  andy bassett
I need to have a set of 225 bumpers sprayed up, and one slightly repaired, I phoned a few places, had quotes around £120-£140 per bumper, and some place said £250 the whole lot :!:

Is this about right :?: I was expecting to pay around £500. Anyone know of any particular good places in or around the areas of Coventry or Milton Keynes?

Thanks for any help.

might sound a lil stupid but ask your dealer to quote you under their rapide service.
It seems to be around that price. You are fitting them yourself right and what kind of repair is it?
Was going to attempt to fit them myself yeah. The only repairs that need doing are to the front bumper, as it must have been in an accident and there is a tiny crack on it, plus a load of scratches which need to be sanded down and filled over.
Bubbles mentioned where her clio was repaired was quite good. It's in a post somewhere.

The scratches needs to be filled, are they that deep? To put your quote into respect my dealer qouted £350 for the front and rear bumper respray.

Have you figured how to take the rear bumper off yet? I tried to the other day but the clips wouldn't budge so I gave up.

100 for each should be right

Not that deep, just lots of them, I think fine surface filler should be ok. I would attempt it myself, but the quotes seem to be quite resonable. I also want the washer jet holes filled over.

Here's a picture of the worst part

Really! I thought you had already taken the rear off? I was going to ask you for tips! :D Anyway, the rear won't be going on for a while until I decide on an exhaust.

I forgot, the £250 quote I got included painting of my spoiler aswell. I was really expecting the prices to be a lot higher, which makes me wonder what sort of job is it going to be?!... But you guys are saying thats about right?

If its including the spoiler I am not so sure. Have you seen their quality of work or did anyone recommend them?

I did take the bumper off last summer but I just couldn't do it myself this time, just two clips that wouldn't budge. When are you going to do the back bumper? I could always try mine again when its warmer.
No, haven't seen their work before, nor recommended, that quote was from the first number in the yellow pages.

I think I'll get the rear bumper off in about 6 weeks. Which 2 clips are you talking about? 1 clip on each wheel arch?
There is two clip on each side below the rear lights where the bumper meet the rear quarter panel. It is not shown very clearly in the renault guide.
Actually took the bumper to a few places today, and the prices have gone up due to the condition of the front bumper! I'm now looking at £400+ all in, not fitted. Which was what I was expecting so have booked in it for 2 weeks time.

However after I got the bumper out the car, and gave it a quick hose down I noticed that there's only one big piece of plastic on the inside, on one side!... Best described with a picture....

Is this part important? Or will I be ok without it, or will I have a similar piece on my original bumper than I can use? Webcode I'm looking at you! :)

Thanks

Is this part shown as the shock absorber or something similar in the Renault guide?
Possibly a shock absorber, that could be about right. Have you got these on your after market bumper?
i myself dont know of anything there. Certainly nothing i know of attaches to this part on the bumper.

Dickie: They are for minor impact protection/stiffening.. And I believe that there should be one on the otherside.. I will check tommorrow and report back..

O good, I had a feeling that it was supposed to push the bumper out a little bit, so its a bit more secure and won't wobble about! But one should be good enough! :D
