Right I was thinking about which version/colour Meganes would be the rarest ones out there.

I know there were a few of the colours of the phase I that were pretty rare but I wondere which the rarest ones were?

Also I was thinking that overall there's probably less GT models sold than RS ones?

Its looking like that, the heritage section on RenaultSport says only 4 black F1s, sounds pretty bloody rare haha.

theclarkster - £25k is a lot to spend but means you reap the benefits. :) A mate of mine has a Mini Cooper-S and paid about £12k I believe for it. With all the options on it, the original buyer would have paid about £23-24k for it.

There are indeed only 14 phase I inferno Cups mate. In fact there were only 99 phase I Cups sold in total.

Looking at the heritage section on the Renaultsport web site it seems that all models are pretty damned rare.
Even the most popular or most common model which is an inferno, phase I 225 only sold 253 in a sport hatch and 73 in a hatch version.

Welcome to the forum! Great to have another Renault enthusiast join the community.

That’s a really interesting question—and one I’ve wondered about too. Some of those early Phase I colors were definitely rare (like Inferno Orange or Liquid Yellow on limited trims), but it's tough to pin down exact numbers without digging into production data.

And you’re probably right—GT models tend to fly under the radar compared to the RS versions, which got more attention and marketing. Would be cool to see actual sales figures to confirm that!

Looking forward to hearing more of your insights—always good to have more enthusiasts asking the fun questions
