Has anyone had rear parking sensors fitted to thier 225. I like the idea as my old car had them and it can be of good use when getting out of a tight space. However I do not want to spoil the look.
If anyone has had them fitted I would like to see a photo or two and commemnts of werev they came from and who fited.
I do not think anyone will have had them fitted as I have not seen this topic before.

Cheers

parking sensors

The car I test drove at St. Albans had them retro fitted. They looked quite good, but I suspect alot has to do with teh colour of the car as well. The one at Waters Renault in St. Albans was black, so the 4 sensors inthe bumper did not stand out. That said, they can be painetd to match the body colour.

The car is on Autotrader, but notsure how much you will be able to see from those photos.

I was thinking of getting them aswell but as you say dont really wana ruin the look so I found this

No cutting required just mount it behind the bumper there are two types one for plastic and one for metal bumbers
l like the look of that, no sensors showing. I would like to see a review before I comited to buy although at that price it might be worth taking a chance.

I had them fitted by the garage the morning I took delivery, took them less than an hour and their excellent, most importantly the rear end stays how it was meant to be - smooth and beautiful :D :D

You need the sensors for the plastic bumpers and shouldn't cost much over £70.00p + fitting if your like me and want the garage to fit it.

I had an aftermarket set fitted to my old laguna. Put them in the bumper strip and had thhem sprayed to the colour so they blended in a bit. They are bloody good. Although my parking skills are excellant so didn't want them on the meggy.
Paul,
Do you know how they wired them up at all I was thinking about getting them when I get paid. But was unsure of how they got the wiring back into the car is there a gromet or somthing somewhere?

PARKING SENSORS

I had bought an aftermarket set for front and rear with a little display moinitor - requires drilling holes in the bumpers. Probably won't use that now.

From the instructions on those, so far as I can see they all utilise the fact that the reversing light is engaged when reverse gear is selected. I can only assume that they would continue to work if the bulb was blown as ther would still be an electrical current to that bulb.

Wiring should really be just a case of attaching to the reversing light and a suitable earth point.

Don't think they would work if the bulb was blown unless it's wired in parallel. Mind you if they stopped working when the bulb blew at least you'd know your bulb was out :D
I had a display unit that told me exactly how many feet i was from the object. So had to run a wire to the front of the car. Wasn't too bad.

Some of the work cars that have had them fitted aftermarket, they've put the speaker in the back parcel shelf.

Of course the easy solution would be "Learn to judge your car as you don't need parking sensors - lazy" but who am I to criticise ;)
Thought I would resurrect this old thread instead of starting a new one, I saw this thread on another forum and thought that’s not too bad for the price http://www.hotukdeals.com/item/172454/parking-sensors-no-drilling-54-98-2/showthread.php?t=172454
Don’t like the style of the plate mounting to be honest a bit bulky, also came across the one Christos mentioned earlier in this thread http://www.caraudioplus.co.uk/Parking_Sensors/Proxel_T123P_Parking_Sensor
And this seems to be a pretty good idea, has anyone else tried this since or have any experience with it.
interested in the wireless option but has anyone on here fitted one? How is it with the deep recess for the rear number plate?
