As stated somewhere else I got a recaro before X-mas. Here it is:

My four year old love it, it even has a built in speaker so she can have her own music! Verry expensive but looks well cool and offers her top levels of crash protection.

The seat extends upwards, out at the sides and the base extends forwards. It should last until your sprog is 11 or 12! So not really that expensive. I'll have to buy another one next year for my lad though!
