Does anybody know how to power up an amp using the OEM Head Unit? They have recommended me (thru a priv.) using the ***-lighter power but I dont know how... Anyway... just thought of making my query public so more than one would benefit with the replies...

Polarity Coding for Megane Speakers + Remote Turn-on lead

Hi All.

Yesterday Andy spent hours on messenger with this ignorant soul trying to figure out the polarity of the leads that connect the factory speakers with the factory head unit. Some, like me, might wish to connect upgraded speakers without changing the head unit. Andy also identified the lead that can be used from the HU to turn on amp.

The world says Thank You Andy

Speaker color coding:

Front right: - white and + orange
Front left: - brown and + green
Rear right: - pink and + cream
Rear left: - brown and + green

Remote lead:

The yellow wire next to the big black wire on the power side of the ISO block, just connect to this and run a lead to the rear and you will have a remote lead. Comes on when you start the car and goes of when the radio goes off.

Hey Andy,

Hope you can help on this one... Are you able to locate the rest of the pinouts for the other cables? ie ground, constant, etc.. ??

Many thanks

And here is the image where Andy pointed at the Remote turn-on lead that can be used to turn an amplifier on.

Hi Alonso225, do you still have this pic?

oh and I saw your other posting on the KenwoodKSC-SW1 amplfied 6.5 subwoofer... can it be powered via this lead alone? thanks :)

Sent you a PM----- but no. Remone-turn-on is not power. Its just a low power signal to trigger the amp or antenna into turning on.
