Guys,

Anyone experienced rough running at idle. I can't quite put my finger on it but when I'm pulling up at a set of lights and I'm rolling with the car idling (clutch in or in neutral) it seems to run rough. When I pull up to a complete stop it seems to sort itself out pretty quickly - sometimes almost immediately and other times it will continue for 15 seconds or so. Doesn't affect it under acceleration and it doesn't seem to do it all the time. Improves after a good thrashing (wog tune-up!). Could this be a coil pack or an injector going? Last time I had it in at the dealers they put fuel system cleaner through it. Before then it had never played up!

Must be our australian models!!

I sometimes get a rough idle too, but I think I've narrowed it down to fuel quality!!? :D

I was experimenting a bit on the way home from work this afternoon and it doesn't seem to be doing it with the air con on. The only difference is that it idles a little higher (about 100rpm). Maybe the idle is set a little low. Of course, setting the idle is not a simple matter since they have by wire throttle....have to mention it to my useless dealer next time a I take it in....they'll just tell me they couldn't replicate the problem as per usual!

Mine also does it, you can hear the rough idle from the exhaust and the rpm drops to about 700ish, the toxic fume light also flashes.

i had an injector replaced which cured it for about a week, then i guess one of the others failed

why they didnt do all four i dont know!
the dealer said they used two different types of injector one set being insufficient i guess these are the ones they have replaced

Most likely faulty coils (common on Renaultsport cars) or injectors (seems to be fairly common on the 225).

Take it in to your stealer and tell them to check those two things.

I would expect that an injector (or a coil pack) would affect the performance right through the rev range. What has everyone that has had these problems found?

I never get the toxic fume light coming on either....

Yep definately swopped an injector, i agree i would have expected a drop in performance but there was none!
Well aint that some shit!

I'm going to go over all the injectors and coil pack connections with some silicon spray/contact cleaner this week-end and see how that goes....

Must be some kind of mechanical failure with the injectors. Maybe they stop working properly at low duty cycles when idling.

mine also idles at about 750rpm. If i'm stuck in traffic and let the car roll forward in neutral, it idles at about 1100rpm until i come to a complete stop, only then does it drop back down to 750rpm. I tought it was normal, it's done that since day 1
