Sloppy gear change

Hi,

After the first 10 mins of driving my r26 once things have warmed up the gear selector no longer self-centres, and it's a lottery whether I get the right gear when changing across the gate, particularly 5/6 down to 3/4.

There's no problem actually getting it into gear once I find the right one, but it's just very vague.

Replacing the selector cables was recommended. Does anyone have an experience of whether this will actually fix this type of problem, or could it need something else?

Thanks,

Scott.

Loads of stuff on here about this issue but basically to save searching you need to remove your gear selector unit and disassemble the part shown. In there are 2 nylon bushes (white parts top and bot of arrow, just about see them in the pic) which get full of crap over the years and go tighter on the shaft than normal.
Simply remove and clean out / open up a little.
I bored about 0.15mm out of mine on a lathe but most on here use a drill to fix.

When you take the ecu out the windows will have to be reset, and your esp light will come on.
Esp will sort itself out with driving.
The windows will reset by holding the button down in the fully closed position for 5 secs.

And make sure you have the radio code.

Look at my fitment guide in the stickys in the `how to ` section,to give you a idea of what to do.

If you remove the actuator, and it doesnt move freel, this is the problem(which it will be).
