Is this possible? I've had a PS3 to fix and the blu ray drive is in pieces after someone else tried to repair it and failed! I've got a new blu ray drive, It's all fitted and is spining up the disks but it's not reading them.

Any ideas?

know with the xbox's you have to re write the key to them but I've not done a ps3. are you sure the new drive is good as most second hand ones have laser faults if it's an eBay job :)

I got the drive from a guy in work. He's not the type to pull a fast one so doubt it's that. It spins the disk up find but doesn't seem to be reading it - hence wondering If it needed sync'ing or similar.

You might just need to swap the laser.. Or try using to old chipboard off the old drive.. Some Ps3 drives don't work on some consoles.. I done this to my old 60gig console.. It redirected it for about 6 months.. Then went again... So I bought a new one
