My 225 (full fat with glass roof) went in for another (6th) warranty check last week. The second drivers door locking button had failed. The replacement is a new part number so maybe there has been a redesign. I hope so. Front and rear tyres were shagged so they've been replaced, this time by Michelin Pilots. More expensive but they dont tramline as badly as the OE Contis. But the rear tyres are still wearing way too fast. It cant be the tyres as the fronts wear quite reasonably. I got 18K out of the last set - mainly legal motorway driving.

The tyre fitters did say that one of the wheels has taken a knock and is very slightly buckled. They also said it is normal on ultra low profile wheels where the suspension is hard - a replacement wheel is cheaper than replacing the suspension.

When you're driving 100s of miles in a straight line at a constant 70mph (or as close as I can get away with) tyre mileage does look good. A friend once had a Vauxhall Carlton (cooking version. not the Lotus fire breather) that did similar journeys and he got almost 50k on his first set of tyres.

Managed to get 14000 on the fronts and 18000 on the rear original conti's. Still had about 2.5mm on the rears but got a puncture (sidewall) so replaced both and kept the good one for a spare spare.

I managed 8200 on the original front contis before they where slicks rears are on 14000 now and still have decent life left in them, put T1R's on the front at 8000 and they look to be wearing loads better than the contis did. Wont be buying Contis again, overpriced and shite IMO :!:

Eagle F1's rock! My last set covered 20,000 and still has some tread on when they took them off. I had them fitted to my Clio before and now I will have nothing else on my cars!!!

Moose when you first got your eagles put on did the car feel like REALLY different to the conti's. I remember driving out of the tyre place and it felt like the wheels were made of jelly and wobbling all over the place :p

I love them though. awsome in the rain!

I've got F1's on the fronts, and the original conti's on the back.
I've tended to find that the F1's are crap until they've warmed a little, and then they're okay.

The biggest problem I'm having at the moment is losing the rear end on roundabouts.... think I might have to replace the backs

you must be joking!

How can you say that 8-10 thousand kms is good???
My contis are stuffed after 20 thousand kms and I am not happy!
Do you guys all drive on race tracks?

Good thing is though I used to work for a tyre wholesaler so should be able to get a nice little discount.Hopefully? :?:
