I've just had a quote of £130+vat per wheel to respray my 8 spokes the same colour as the Clio182.

That sound s a lot of money or am I just not being realistic about prices.

The idea came about through a thread on this site awhile ago I think :?

What does anyone think a good adea or not :?:

way to much money, i got quoted £70 + vat to do my old silver 225 alloys and still said no.
would rather pay a little bit extra and a brand new set of cup alloys and have the silver ones as spares or sell them and get some money back.

I'm about to call a place near me in Barnsley about having this done. I'm sure I've seen £55 + vat mentioned somewhere on the net....

How much is a cup/trophy alloy then out of interest and where would you stand in terms of the tyre pressure gauge/tyre sizes etc?

Just done some investigating and a local resprayer will do it for £35 +vat a wheel.

I've got to supply them without tyres though so when I can organise that :!: :!: Ill have it done

Just to back that up got my quote back at £40 per wheel inc vat.

That includes same day fitting, removal of tyres + rebalancing. They say they have done a megane with Tyre Pressure sensors before so fingers crossed no probs.

Booked in for the 16th Feb.

I Had my mondeo 18's done at Metal Magic in Barnsley. i went for the smoke chrome finish and it wasnt the best job really. Paint should be easy though. I paid £285, roll in roll out.

I know a few people who've used them and I have had a wheel refurbed there in the past so I'm quite happy to go with them.

Also if you search on the net they have been used by people far and wide for standard finishes.

I guess the chroming is a different kettle of fish altogether really.

Certainly at £160 all in its 90% cheaper than buying Trophy/Cup alloys. Wonder what the standard wheel will be on the new version?
