This is how I clean my wheels:

Spray on AMDetails wheel cleaner (or Bilberry, both products diluted 4:1 with water in a spray bottle).
Dwell for 2 minutes per wheel.
Jetwash off.
Degreasant on the tyre, agitate with a stiff brush.
Spray on a little more wheel cleaner.
Now use your brushes. Inside the rim first with a long cone brush (I use a Halfords item, it's great!)
Rinse.
Spray a little wheel cleaner on the front face of the wheel.
Using detailing brushes, agitate the dirt.
Rinse.
Done.

Get hold of some Envy Detailing brushes. They're great!

I sealed my wheels with two layers of FK1000p at the end of September. I recently took them off and cleaned them up, the water ran straight off. Extremely impressed!
Saying that, I put one layer of it on the gf's Mito at the start of October and it's still working well.
