Good day all.

I have just purchased a 2005 (55) 225. It has a number of issues which I am looking to rectify (All negotiated within the price!)

1. Windscreen washers do not work. Front or back. Resevoir is full, and the pump is working, but no squirty! Any ideas?

2. Air con doesnt work. Have had it re-gassed and they think it is the switch. I have got a replacement heater panel ready to fit, but need to know how to remove the facia. Is it a case of removing the stereo and then there are fixings behind?

3. It has a hugely annoying Forge dumpvalve fitted. Is removal of this straight forward?

4. Finally, it needs a cambelt change. Is this as straight forward as most cambelt changes or is it worth getting a specialist to have a look at? And if so - anyone know a good specialist in the South Wales area.

Any help would be appreciated! I am so far enjoying this car and the few niggles I have mentioned are sorted, I am sure I will enjoy it even more!

Good day all.

1. Windscreen washers do not work. Front or back. Resevoir is full, and the pump is working, but no squirty! Any ideas? If both ends of the car are not working I would say its some crap at the bottom of the bottle blocking the pipes, try cleaning the bottle out

2. Air con doesnt work. Have had it re-gassed and they think it is the switch. I have got a replacement heater panel ready to fit, but need to know how to remove the facia. Is it a case of removing the stereo and then there are fixings behind? Does the car have the screen showing the direction of the blowers and fan speed? when the AC is turned on the letters "AC" are displayed in the top left of this screen

3. It has a hugely annoying Forge dumpvalve fitted. Is removal of this straight forward? If you have the original pipework and bits to go back on, Yes it is

4. Finally, it needs a cambelt change. Is this as straight forward as most cambelt changes or is it worth getting a specialist to have a look at? And if so - anyone know a good specialist in the South Wales area.

Thanks alot.

I will try cleaning the bottle out.

There is no screen - it is the A/C model rather than climate control. There is an A/C switch with an LED next to it. The LED does not light up atall.

I don't have the orignial pipework. Any idea how much from Renault? Or would it be cheaper to get a Samco or similar alternative.

Cheers.

could be pump pressure fault with dirt blocking it.

Have you checked the fuse? panels dont fail really.

not with out the pipe work plus if they have took the re circ valve off and you havent got it its only available with the turbo.

4. Finally, it needs a cambelt change. Is this as straight forward as most cambelt changes or is it worth getting a specialist to have a look at? And if so - anyone know a good specialist in the South Wales area.
Specailist or dealer only do not go just anywhere, due to the tools required PM me for more info if you want.

Thanks lemonnoby. I am in the Bridgend area.

I have had a look at the washer system and it appears the pump has failed even thought the motor is running. So will get that sorted on the weekend.

Fuse has been checked on the A/C system, and I have a new panel which cost peanuts on ebay, so just need to give that a blast.

Think I will pop down to Ktec in dorset for the timing belt. Cheaper than a main dealer and fairplay the run from South wales to Dorset - well, after turning off the M4 anyway - is absolutely fantastic.
