Just wondering if it's possible to upgrade from bog standard lights to xenons? If so, does anyone have any idea how much it would be? No real need in doing so - I just like the look of them!

Forget it mate! Basically the wiring and everything is totally different and would probably cost over 1k for the bits!

Thanks fo the link! Hmmm, Yep, they're expensive for lights!

Does the Xenon option on the 225 have auto levelling? I'm a bit confused on how all this works... There is a levelling switch on the dash for ordinary halogens - I take it this isn't present in a car with xenons? Do you get auto levelling with with any of the conversion kits?

from wat i remember dav saying the xenons on the 225 have got there own little ecus to run them inc height adjust on them,

adam from shiny autos knows wat hid kits will fit the 225, keep an eye out for him and ask him,

i know that you need a H7 hid kit for a standard 225 head lamp for around £300-£400. if its a direct replacment then fitting is a doddle but wirering them up could be fun

I thought they just plugged in line where your normal bulb should go but you have to mount a ballast box somwhere as well.

Some of the kits are only like £250 didnt think that was to bad.

Hiya!

Fitting is easy peasy..

By law though you need auto levelling and also light washers...

However mot testers do not check if you have auto leveling!!!

So its just the washers you need to sort out...

To retro fit auto leveling will cost you an absolute mint!!! As you need to fit sensors on the front and rear axels then actuators for both of them and the list goes on.

Here is a pic of how auto leveling works:

I'm going to do my conversion if i don't get xenons with my 225, and i will deffinately be changing my fogs over to xenons!

Andy's right mate, the xenons already built in have auto leveling and their own computers/ecu's to do such. If it was me i would just buy the HID conversion kit and fit it myself.

I think the fogs are H7's too..

I'll have a look into it.

Andy changed he's fogs for the xenon look bulbs so i'm sure andy will say.

99% positive they are H7's though.
