Hi guys. I suppose this is the best section for this question.

I am looking for a wiring diagram or advice on which wire to hook into behind the key-card or start button for ignition power - which one gives the permanent positive when the car is running?

Also looking for the best wire to hook into behind the dash for headlights on.

Cheers.

adrian.

Hi all.

I presume the start/stop button switches a relay to give ignition on power? Does anyone know where this is? Any ignition wiring diagram?

It would be nice to actually wire up my 4-post kill-switch that I have mounted in the cabin :)

Nope, not even remotely close. Its far more complicated than that, the start/stop button is merely a set of momentry contacts connected to the uch which combined with the upc and engine ecu provide the necessary functions.

I would seriously advise against messing around with this for a silly kill switch its far more hassle than its ever going to be worth.

Thanks for the response. I tested all the wires at the back of the card reader and none had a permanent ignition voltage whilst the car was running... so i think there is a relay somewhere that the stop/start triggers..

Worth is different for everyone. Using the car for motorsport in the worst case situation I would like to be able to get out without myself or a marshal being zapped, not to mention the risk of frying things - and it provides the added benefit of making the car pretty hard to steal. Anyway..

Appreciate the response. What are the UCH and UPC?

Judging by what you have mentioned though I could probably turn the engine off via the kill by mimicking the momentary contact of the stop start button before killing power. But I'd rather kill it by just cutting ignition power. If knowone knows or has access to diagrams I'll trace the wiring through the dash..
